Though many people have used dimmers for mood lighting in the dining room, or perhaps in the living room, there are a variety of other places where you might like having a dimmer.

For example, it’s hard to take a relaxing bath under harsh bathroom lights. Some people light candles to go with their bubble baths, but candles are hazards (especially if you have pets, kids, or both). A dimmer switch can be a great solution, because it gives you just enough light to wind down.

Installing a dimmer switch in the hallway allows you to keep pathways bathed in gentle light at night, making it safer for you to move around the house without needing to turn on harsh and blinding lights.
